When it comes to timeless footwear, few styles can rival the enduring popularity and versatility of fisherman sandals. With their distinctive woven construction and functional design, these sandals have stood the test of time and remain at the forefront of summer footwear trends. Who can remember having a pair of plastic fisherman style sandals as a child? Or coveting their brother’s cooler, more comfortable buckle sandals in the nineties. We were determined to make a GS fisherman’s sandal for everyone who believes in “dad-core” and the remainder who are too lazy to get a pedicure.

The roots of the fisherman sandal can be traced back further than the early eighties jelly shoe to ancient times. Dating as far back as the Roman Empire and even earlier in ancient Egypt, these sandals were primarily worn by fishermen, sailors, and those whose livelihoods revolved around water. Crafted from durable materials such as leather or canvas the woven fit offered support and quick drying. The closed toes also offered a certain level of protection.

Our iteration of the fisherman’s sandal the Fisher is our idea of a sturdy sandal. Open enough to be cool in hot summer but with enough structure to feel secure. This sandal will take you from the urban streets to the sand dunes.

Our design is genderless and ideal for all. We recommend the Vibram Gloxi-cut sole but you can also choose the Vibram Cleated sole for a stronger look.
