Blytheswood

Blytheswood

Green Shoes is based in Moretonhampstead (Moreton for short) a small town on the on the eastern edge of Dartmoor. For those looking to visit the South West, we are well situated with the cathedral city of Exeter to the east, Dartmoor to the west and beautiful coastline to the south.

A stones throw from Moreton, along the Teign valley and nestled in ancient woodland, Blytheswood is the perfect retreat from the pace of modern life.

The owners, Sarah and Lewis, have transformed this former YHA hostel, along with two external bunk rooms, into neatly decorated accommodation. Guests can stay in the cabins (pictured above), now self catering units, and feel immersed in the surrounding woodland. Kitted out with everything the modern traveller needs, whilst offering a careful blend of cosy comfort and a connection to the outdoors, the cabins are an ideal place for hikers or walkers to rest. And walking and cycling is encouraged as part of Blytheswood's ethos of low-impact living.

Blytheswood is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) with bats, badgers and deer all living among the trees. Guests can sit in the glade and soak up the atmosphere, take a dip in the nearby river, walk to the local pub or head deeper into Dartmoor to explore the hidden charms of this wonderful location.

Visit Blytheswood.
