Boot and Shoemaking Workshops


We have been running these short shoemaking courses for a number of years and they have proved to be popular for aspiring shoemakers or anyone who is interested in how to make a pair of our style of stitch down Green Shoes. We give you all the support, tuition and materials you need to make a stylish, durable pair of boots or shoes from our range. Making them in our workshop surrounded by all the materials and equipment of shoemaking, making the experience unique as you are working in our work place! You are able to make the shoes yourself using most of our tools and sewing machines, once the shoes are lasted we do the final finishing and post them on to you after a few days.

On the 2 day bootmaking workshop you can make; Dartmoor Boot, Walking Boot, Iris Boot, Poppy Boot, Lily Boot, Inari Boot, Willow Boot and Pull-on Boots. You can choose from most of our soling materials and any of our leathers or our vegan materials.

On the 1 day shoemaking workshop you can make;  Any open sandal, Laurel Shoe, Heather Shoe, Willow Shoe, Vintage Bar Sandal, Field Boot, Vintage T-bar, Modbury Shoe, Vintage Buckle Boot, Staverton Mule, Prawle Mule, Salcombe or Branscombe Sandals or simple sandals from our pattern archive.

You can choose from most of our soling materials and any of our leathers or our vegan materials.

Our workshops are great fun and suitable for complete beginners and it is truly satisfying to make and wear beautiful shoes. Best of all is to be able to say "I made these myself!".

The day workshops run from 9.30am - 5.00pm. Tea, coffee and cakes are provided but not lunch. There are cafes and shops nearby.

Gift vouchers are available and make a great present. We can also take group bookngs for up to 5 people - date by arrangement.

The Boot making workshop costs £650 and includes the cost of the boots you make {£200 non refundable booking fee}.

The shoemaking workshops costs £325 and includes the cost of the shoes you make (£100 non refundable booking fee).
