Shoemaking Workshops

Our established workshops are great fun and suitable for complete beginners; we give you all the support, tuition and materials you need to make a stylish, durable pair of stitched-down shoes from our range.

Come and try your hand at shoemaking!

On a Green Shoes' workshop you experience the whole shoemaking process from having your feet measured, choosing the design, the leather or vegan material to then learning about and using our patterns, hand tools and lasts. As you progress, you will use specialist sewing machines to top-stitch and assemble the shoe upper.

Choose from our full soling range and we attach your soles after the workshop. Your finished shoes are then posted to you within the week.

On our one-day shoemaking workshop you can make: Any open sandal, Laurel Shoe, Heather Shoe, Willow Shoe, Vintage Bar Sandal, Field Boot, Vintage T-Bar, Modbury Shoe, Vintage Buckle Boot, Prawle Mule, Salcombe and Branscombe Sandals.

The workshop runs from 9.30am - 5.00pm. A full but fulfilling day's work.

Tea, coffee and cakes are provided, but lunch is not included. Moretonhampstead hosts local cafes, shops and accommodation. Please find more information here:

We have taken great care to ensure that we can run our workshops safely regarding Covid-19.

The workshop machines and tools are cleaned and we can keep a safe distance in our large and airy workshop space. Also, we are encouraging family and friendship groups to make joint bookings. You can book an entire workshop for your bubble, from 3 to 5 people, and we welcome requests for alternative dates if ours don't suit you.

Mid-week Slide Making Workshops can be requested for bubbles of 2 to 4 people.
