Green Shoes in the news!

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Our shoes seem to be appearing in all sorts of Eco-Chic fashion articles! Our Corset belt is featured in a dreamy summer forest photoshoot for July’s Financial Times ‘How to spend it’ Magazine (Issue 203), and again in the Daily Telegraph’s ‘Making the World a greener place’ Fashion feature. Shot in Spain, our Lily Boots and Large Traditional Satchel also appear- the focus is on fairtrade, organic and sustinably made fashion which also ticks all the right style boxes “It’s not enough any more to be simply eco; there has to be a design element … people need to be tempted”.(Click to see article)

We love BBC’s Eco-Fashion site ‘Thread’- a dynamic monthly online magazine which is “…dedicated to bringing you the latest in eco-fabulous style”. The Issue 2 Style file shows Green Shoes Cuff Bracelet, and in Issue 1 our eco-tan Field Boots and Fern Ballet Pump make an appearance too!(Click to see site)

The Gin Lady website is also a good place to spot Green Independent & Natural(GIN!) Brands - our Poppy Boots get a mention in her “Wear Handmade” section this month (Click to see site)

We are delighted that Permaculture Magazine have given our naturally tanned leather eco-tan range their highest rating in the Autumn 08 issue ethical shoes report. Following wear testing and after looking closely at both ethical and environmental credentials, Green Shoes were described as being “…extremely well crafted, comfortable, beautifully soft with a choice of sole material. Designs are simple and stylish. Handmade in classic styles, their shoes can be customised to the colour, size and width fitting of your choice, and are also available in vegan styles, for those who prefer not to wear leather. The leather they do use is organically tanned using pure plant oils and agents and is toxin free. Green Shoes’ children’s range is particularly charming… All their products are hand-crafted to an excellent quality… Designed to be easily resoleable and repairable, these shoes should withstand all your children’s wear and tear.”
